Song of the Week - #16 - "Living Sacrifice"

Romans 12:1 "Therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, I urge you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God; this is your spiritual worship."

In the old testament the people of God would offer the blood of animals for the forgiveness of their sins and as their act of worship. Because Jesus has provided for our forgiveness by a new and living way through His own blood, we now bring our hearts and our lives as our act of worship to Him. We know that worship isn’t only singing but the way that with our whole being we love, serve, obey, and bless our Father in heaven. This is what I hoped to highlight in this song. May the Lord give us power through the Holy Spirit and by the mercy of God to continually offer up our real lives in worship through our actions of praise every day!

Micah 6:6,8 “With what shall I come before the Lord and bow down before the exalted God?…He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”

Luke 10:27 “…’Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’’ and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”

Heb. 10:20, 22 “By his death, Jesus opened a new and life-giving way through the curtain into the Most Holy Place. And since we have a great High Priest who rules over God’s house, let us go right into the presence of God with sincere hearts fully trusting him. For our guilty consciences have been sprinkled with Christ’s blood to make us clean and our bodies have been washed with pure water.”
