"Power In The Blood" | Tommy Walker (from Generation Hymns 3)
This beloved hymn was written by Lewis E. Jones in 1899. He composed it at a camp meeting in Mountain Lake Park, Maryland.
I don't know anymore of the back story but it makes me believe that Lewis wrote it amidst a time when he was already out serving God. I have found that God does His best work through us when we are in the midst of giving our lives away for His Kingdom! So, let us not wait for what may seem to be the perfect situation but serve God in some way, right now in the season we are already in!
This hymn is simply a celebrative declaration of the power of Jesus' blood to forgive us of our sins! I love how the added vamp came out and can't wait to play it live again and let the celebration of His grace be even more extended!
Ephesians 1:7 NIV “In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace”
