This song was inspired by a trip I took to Israel. I have had the privilege of going on many pilgrimages there, and while there, I always visit the Dead Sea. Let me tell you, the Dead Sea is completely dead! There is nothing living in it, and any object, such as a boat or bridge, that would go in that water would soon corrode to the point of total destruction. So why does this happen? Well, water flows into the Dead Sea, BUT no water flows out of it. I remember when I was young, my dad talked about this in one of his sermons, and when I was finally able to go see it for myself, wow, was it obviously true! SOOO, the point of this song is - as God’s love and blessings keep coming to us, let's make it our prayer that His love and life will continually flow out of us!
Musically speaking, I have always loved the sound of the 2 and 6 chords in a key repeating back and forth; it creates a dark tone. So, that's why when this song goes to the chorus, I made it all major chords so it would sound bright and happy as we sing about God's love flowing out of us. Bryan Taylor, our drummer, and TWM Director had the idea of using a trumpet to make the song celebrative and festive. It’s not your typical worship band instrument, but I love broadening what the sound of worship can be, and our good friend Knox Summerour did a fantastic job! I'm so happy he shared his gift with us, and now you!
