Song of the Week - #11 - "Speak The Word"

One of the things I have always loved about my wife Robin is her love for the Bible. Give her a cup of coffee and God’s Word and she can just drink it in for hours. Here’s a verse that makes me think of her.

Psalms 1:2 But they delight in the law of the Lord, meditating on it day and night. They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do.

We live in a day and age where what’s become acceptable is to decide what truth is, based on what seems or feels right to us. For me, I wouldn’t want to trust my own limited understanding and flawed perceptions to conceive a philosophy for life or to figure out my eternal future. I have chosen to put all my trust in God’s Word, which has continued to prove itself true for thousands of years, and for millions of believers. This is why I believe we must keep going to it, memorizing it, singing it and speaking it over and over again which is the prayer of this song.
