"You Took My Place" | Tommy Walker & Eileen Walker
Isaiah 53:5 But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds, we are healed.
This song highlights the fact that Jesus did for us what we could not do for ourselves. He died to forgive and cleanse our sins!
Though there is a narrative in our culture today that tells us that human beings are inherently good, the Bible tells us that all people have sinned and fallen short of God’s glory and are in need of a savior!
If you are somebody who watched this video and are ready to take the first step toward a new life in Jesus Christ, we invite you to turn away from your sin and turn to Jesus. He will forgive you and make you a new person.
For assistance you may pray the following prayer or something similar:
Dear Lord Jesus, I admit that I am a sinner and in need of a savior, please forgive me of my sins. I believe that You are the Messiah sent from God, the one who died in my place and rose again to life. I place my trust in You and I give You my life. Thank You for making me Your child and for giving me the gift of eternal life. Amen.
If you have placed your trust in Jesus for salvation or recommitted your life to Him, please seek out a Christian church, that believes the Bible is the inerrant word of God, where you can be taught, strengthened, and established in your faith. We would also love to hear from you on our WORSHIP EVANGELISM testimony page.
Below you can also read several more powerful Bible verses to help you in your decision to receive Christ. For all of us who have already made this decision, we can be reminded again of God's unspeakably amazing grace!
God bless you,
2 Cor. 5:21 (NLT) “For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.”
1 Peter 2:22, 24 NLT ”He never sinned, nor ever deceived anyone.... He personally carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. By his wounds you are healed.”
1 Peter 3:18 NLT ”Christ suffered for our sins once for all time. He never sinned, but he died for sinners to bring you safely home to God. He suffered physical death, but he was raised to life in the Spirit.”
Romans 3:23 NLT “For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.”
Romans. 5:6-11 NLT “When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners. Now, most people would not be willing to die for an upright person, though someone might perhaps be willing to die for a person who is especially good. But God demonstrated his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s condemnation. For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his son. So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends with God.”
Gal. 3:13 NLT ”But Christ has rescued us from the curse pronounced by the law. When he was hung on the cross, he took upon himself the curse for our wrongdoing. For it is written in the Scriptures, ‘Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.’”
Titus 2:11,14 NLT ”For the grace of God has been revealed, bringing salvation to all people...He gave his life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us his very own people, totally committed to doing good deeds.”
Col. 2:13,14 NLT “You were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ, for he forgave all our sins. He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross.”
John 1:12 “But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.”
2 Cor. 5:20 NIV “We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.”
