Song of the Week - #24 - "Who Could Ever Stand"
The description for this song is simply a prayer. Lord, when I read this passage of scripture it stops me. I pause and imagine the terrifying, yet beautiful and wondrous sight of your appearing! It reminds me to tremble before You, worship You, and return to You again. Refine me with your refiner’s fire that I can be holy and fully whole. As I reverence You, I give my deepest thanks that You are the God who gives me right standing by your grace and brings me near through the blood of Jesus your Son.
Malachi 3:2, 7, 16 “But who can endure the day of his coming? Who can stand when he appears? For he will be like a refiner’s fire or a launderer’s soap. Ever since the time of your ancestors you have turned away from my decrees and have not kept them. Return to me, and I will return to you,” says the Lord Almighty. Then those who feared the Lord talked with each other, and the Lord listened and heard. A scroll of remembrance was written in his presence concerning those who feared the Lord and honored his name."
Romans 5:1,2 “Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand."
Eph. 2:13 “But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ.”
