Song of the Week - #23 - "I Let Them Go"

This song came out of a hurtful situation in which I was wounded and offended by someone’s words in a deep way. Being an offended person is the last thing on earth I want to be! Yet, if I’m honest, I’ve discovered that I can let peoples’ words and actions offend me on a regular basis. Offense is a heavy burden. However, Jesus invites me to cast my cares on Him. Because He has forgiven me of so much, and because He, the Forgiver, lives in me, He is able to empower me to forgive others. For me, this means not only telling Him about my cares and hurts, but truly releasing them to Him and leaving them behind. My prayer is that this song will touch your heart and inspire you to cast your offenses and cares upon Jesus, and to live in the true freedom that forgiveness brings.
