This song is taken from Isaiah 61:1-3: “The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion— to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.”
Our Lord Jesus Himself was anointed by the Spirit for His mission on earth and as His followers, so are we. (Acts 1:8) When Jesus commands us to go into all the world and preach the gospel, (Matt.28:18-20) He isn't sending us out with our own ideas, talents, and abilities but with His power and anointing! Let’s be reminded that we are proclaiming the Good News ~ the greatest news of all history! Our sins can be forgiven! We can be rescued, set free, comforted in our mourning, and our darkness turned to light!
My prayer is that this song will remind us all of the privilege and joy found in sharing God's love and message of the cross!
Lastly, I want to say a big thank you to my team for helping arrange this song in such a way that it fuses together several styles that I've never really written from before. At TWM we are passionate about declaring the gospel to THE NATIONS, to the best of our ability!

Matthew 28:18-20 NIV “Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
