Song of the Week - #9 - "After"
My beloved mom went home to Jesus in the summer of 2013. As I grieved, I was reminded once again how short life on this earth really is. Yet, as this song says, “after a thousand years, You (God) will be with me for all eternity.” What a comfort this is! What a hope we have as Christians! I especially want to offer this song to those who have lost a loved one recently. Special thanks to Kelsey Kepple for playing violin and Carlos Gallardo-Candia for recording and videoing this song. And it was such a blessing to get to sing this song with my daughter Eileen, who is my mom’s namesake.
"The Lord cares deeply when his loved ones die.” Psalm 116:15
"You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.” James 4:14
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you… ”1Peter 1:3,4 “
”...And so we will be with the Lord forever.” 1Thess. 4:17 _________________________________
