I originally wrote this song in 1996 to accompany my pastor’s, Mark Pickerill, sermon with the same name. I am so humbled and grateful that God has chosen to use it as one of His instruments to reveal the Father's love and bring His healing.

This song, written directly from Psalm 51, is a prayer of confession and repentance. The word ”repent” seems to get a bad wrap. For some reason it can feel angry and harsh. Maybe we think of the street preacher who might be lacking in his ability to deliver the message with love and grace.

This song is simply a prayer asking for the power of the Holy Spirit to come to us personally and to our churches. The strongest word of this song is "YES.” This "yes" is a word of desire and surrender. Desire - Lord, we want more of who You are and what You have for us.

This week’s song was written years ago, back in 1988. Inspired by Psalms 73 and 84, this song is simply a confession of my weakness and dependence upon God. Oh how timeless God’s Word is and how great my need continues to be for Him!
